Privacy Policy

The short version: the Virtual Church Musician apps do not send any information back to us. This website has no accounts, no cookies, and no analytics or advertising trackers. The only personal information we receive is what you choose to send us through the contact form.

Who we are

This website is published by KnG Consulting, which also provides our other services. Virtual Church Musician itself is developed and licensed by Gerald Lester individually. You can reach either of us at inquiries@kng-consulting.com.

Virtual Church Musician apps

The apps work without an internet connection, and the Server can run on a fully air-gapped network. They do not collect, transmit, or share usage data, diagnostic data, or personal information with KnG Consulting. The music, services, and settings you create stay on your own devices and on the server you run. The apps talk to each other on the network you control, not to us.

If you install an app from Google Play, Google's own privacy practices apply to the store and to any information Google collects about your installation.

This website

  • No accounts and no cookies. We do not ask you to sign in and we do not set cookies.
  • No analytics or third-party trackers. The pages load no third-party scripts, fonts, or advertising.
  • Hosting. The site is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Like any web host, AWS handles the technical details of a request (such as your IP address and browser type) in order to deliver pages to you. We have not enabled access logging that would give us a record of visitors.

Contact form

If you send us a message, we receive the name, email address, topic, organization (optional), and message you type. We use them only to read and reply to your message. We do not send automatic replies or any other email through the form. The form sends your message by email (using Amazon SES) to inquiries@kng-consulting.com. We do not keep it in a database and do not use it for marketing. The message stays in our email account until we no longer need it. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Services

If you ask us for a quote or engage us for a service, we collect what is needed to do the work, such as your contact details, your church or organization's name, project details, and, for hardware, a delivery address. We use it only to provide the service, and we do not sell it. Payments, if any, are processed by a third-party payment service under its own privacy policy.

Downloads and purchases

Free downloads come from our hosting, and delivering a file involves the same technical request details described above. A small service on AWS hands out each download link and records which file was requested (the app, platform, and version) so we can see what is used. That record does not include your IP address or any personal information.

Paid products (the Server and the MIDI Player) are sold through FastSpring, a third-party sales platform that acts as the seller of record and collects and processes your payment and order information under its own privacy policy. We receive limited order details from FastSpring -- your email address and which product you bought -- and store them, together with a license reference and an activation key, so that we can issue and support your license.

You can also request a free 90-day Test Drive directly from us, without going through FastSpring. That request collects only your email address and which product you are trying, stored the same way as a purchase.

We keep these records for as long as needed to provide and support your license: purchase records for as long as the license exists (it does not expire), Test Drive records for the 90-day trial period plus a short time after. We use them only to issue and support your license -- for a Test Drive, also to enforce one trial per email address per product -- and we do not use them for marketing.

Children

This website and the apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices

You may ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to inquiries@kng-consulting.com.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date above.
